| Paleotectonic analysis of the formation conditions and location features of the hydrocarbon accumulations in the South-Western Gissar petroleum bearing region | |
| This paper presents a paleotectonic analysis of the South-Western Gissar petroleum bearing region, one of the promising oil and gas areas of the Republic of Uzbekistan. An analysis of the sedimentation history and the framework structural evolution revealed that the study area was characterized by moderate tectonic activity during the Tithonian stage. The consistent thickness of the Lower Cretaceous section, as well as the Cenomanian and Turonian strata, indicates low tectonic intensity during this period. It is established that the formation of the modern structural-tectonic framework began in the late Upper Cretaceous. This stage plays a key role in the migration and redistribution of hydrocarbons. The constructed paleotectonic sections demonstrate a significant transformation in the structural position of the accumulations, which began at the end of the Late Cretaceous. The main factors determining the distribution of hydrocarbon accumulations in this region include the presence of generation potential in Lower-Middle Jurassic terrigenous strata and the shielding role of the Tithonian salt-anhydrite sequence as a regional seal, as well as the influence of the late Alpine folding phase. This phase finally formed local and regional structures and activated hydrocarbon migration processes in the tectonic fault zones. The obtained results allow more efficient prediction of new hydrocarbon accumulation zones in the presalt complex of the South-Western Gissar petroleum bearing region. | Geological aspects of the current state and prospects for the development of underground gas storage in the Republic of Uzbekistan | |
| A brief overview of the current state of underground gas storage facilities in the world is presented, and information about their main types is provided. The geological aspects of providing the Republic of Uzbekistan with underground gas storage facilities and reducing their number, as well as prospects for expanding the active volume through their modernization, are considered. It is concluded that the existing volumes of underground natural gas storage are insufficient for seasonal regulation of gas consumption. Based on previously performed geological and geophysical studies, facilities have been proposed for the creation of underground gas storage facilities in their volume. The general information about these objects, the history of their identification, the geological exploration carried out, the main parameters of the formations allocated for construction and the expected active storage volumes are given. The conclusion is made about the need for targeted additional geological and field studies to make decisions on the feasibility of building underground gas storage facilities, which will solve the issue of its uniform use in the Republic of Uzbekistan. | Integrated use of satellite imagery and geophysical data in forecast studies for oil and gas (western part of Bukharo-Khiva region) | |
| The article highlights the results of studies on the refinement of the regional structural plan and the search for local structural petroleum traps in the western part of the Bukhara-Khiva region. The features of the placement of search objects and the nature of their expression on satellite imagery data are considered. Objects of very different quality were analyzed: known structures (removed from drilling, prepared and identified), objects identified by seismic surveys. The structures and faults established by the interpretation determined the nature of the distribution of sedimentation-accumulation, the latest faults caused the formation of fracture zones, which improved the reservoir properties of the rocks. A comprehensive analysis of geological and geophysical data and structural interpretation made it possible to establish the relationship and interdependence of tectonic elements, to identify patterns in its structure and distribution of elements of oil and gas exploration interest. The main purpose of the research is to identify the criteria for regional and local structures bearing the productive petroleum levels of the sedimentary cover. | The article discusses the features of the geological structure, the identification of petroleum bearing promising zones and the scientific substantiation of the optimal areas of prospecting and exploration for the Khorezm monocline and adjacent territories through a comprehensive analysis of cosmo-geological study and geological and geophysical data. A comprehensive interpretation made it possible to minimize the existing multivariance in solving certain problems related to the tectonic features of the study area, determining possible zones of oil and gas accumulation, identifying fracture zones, predicting structural traps of the sedimentary cover for setting prospecting seismic surveys in a poorly studied, but potentially petroleum bearing promising territory of Uzbekistan.
