pdf Shiranish Formation petroleum potential of the Euphrates basin (eastern Syria)
The results of a comprehensive study of the Shiranish Formation in the Euphrates Basin in eastern Syria are presented. The Shiranish Formation is an Upper Cretaceous oil and gas source rock with significant potential for hydrocarbon generation and migration. Its widespread occurrence, significant thickness, and high total organic carbon content combined with a high degree of kerogen maturity make it a key element of the region's petroleum systems. In addition, it is considered an unconventional source of hydrocarbons.
The study is based on a large amount of factual material, including the results of geological, geophysical, lithological, and geochemical researches. Data on geophysical well logging, microscopic description of thin sections, and geochemical parameters obtained using the Rock-Eval method are presented, on the basis of which a basin model of the studied region is constructed.
To identify areas with the highest potential for free hydrocarbons in the Shiranish Formation, the volumes of oil remaining in the source rock were quantified. To solve this problem, a residual oil map was created - an important tool integrating various data and modelling methods. This map identifies the most promising areas with significant volumes of hydrocarbons, which serve as an important benchmark for targeted exploration and development of resources.

Keywords: Upper Cretaceous oil and gas source rock, unconventional reservoir, Rock-Eval, well logging, basin modelling, Shiranish Formation, Euphrates basin, eastern Syria.

pdf Petroleum generation potential of the Yogu and Socor formations of the Termite basin (Bilma area, Eastern Niger)
At present, one of the pressing issues is the study and establishment of oil and gas potential on the African continent, which has a high potential, but at the same time remains one of the most understudied. The article describes the main features of the geological structure of the Termite Basin, located in Eastern Niger (Bilma area), as well as the results of studies of the oil source rocks of the Yogu and Socor-1 Formations, which are elements of the Cretaceous and Paleogene hydrocarbon systems. It was established that the studied argillite samples are oil source rocks at high stages of catagenetic transformation, from which a significant number of hydrocarbons emigrated.

Keywords: oil source rock, hydrocarbon system, Yogu Formation, Socor Formation, oil and gas potential, Termite basin, Eastern Niger.

pdf Patterns of geological structure and petroleum potential prospects of the Paleozoic carbonate strata of the Bolshe-Synia depression
In order to identify spatial patterns of distribution of hydrocarbon generation centers and possible accumulations of oil and gas in the sedimentary cover of the Bolshe-Synia depression of the Pre-Ural regional trough (Timan-Pechora petroleum province), basin modeling of oil and gas formation and accumulation processes was carried out. The paper uses a structural model and an array of geological and geophysical characteristics of the basin, created as part of regional seismic surveys completed in 2022, and based on a comprehensive interpretation of the results of geological, geophysical and geochemical studies of the area. Basin modeling was used to reconstruct the change in the degree of catagenesis of organic matter and the realization of the potential for hydrocarbon generation by the parent strata during their subsidence movenment, which made it possible to make recommendations on the most promising areas of exploration for oil and gas in the Bolshe-Synia depression.

Keywords: oil and gas potential, Paleozoic carbonate strata, basin modeling, Bolshe-Synia depression, Pre-Ural trough, Timan-Pechora petroleum province.
