pdf Typification of extension cones in Achimov Formation of the Urengoy field
The application of the underwater extension cones (fans) classification of G. Reading and M. Richards and a comprehensive analysis of the geological and geophysical data concerning the Urengoy field, allowed us to identify geneticaly different extension cones within the same lithostratigraphical level (at a distance of less than 21 km). The underwater extension cones differ in morphological characteristics, in the size of the filtration-capacitive parameters (porosity, permeability) and in the nature of the effective thickness distribution in space. The typification of extension cones when assessing the hydrocarbon potential of poorly studied geological objects will make possible to correctly select their analogues.
