pdf  Biostratigraphic subdivisions analysisof the Upper Devonian - Perm by conodonts
The factors affecting the level of delineation and units border traceability by conodonts in the Upper Devonian-Permian are being discussed. Detailed zonal schemes based on the inhabitants of the deep water are severely restricted by a relatively limited facial range (at best - deposits of deep shelf and continental slope of warm basins), although they are found in large areas within this facies range. Zonal schemes based on the inhabitants of shallow water are not only facially limited (sediments of shallow water shelf and inner seas), but also paleogeographically limited. The isochronism of their borders still remains in most cases but only within the whole paleobasin or its part. The ways of problems solution of inter-facies and interterritorial correlations by conodonts have been considered.
Key words: conodonts, Devonian, Carboniferous, Permian, Urals, Russian Platform, facies, zone scheme.
