pdf  Tabulata lones as a base of separation and correlation of ordovician – devonian oil-gas bearing strata of southeast part of West-Sibirian plate
Coralls biostratigraphic succession is determined on the basis of monographics Tabulata’s description of the Paleozoic southeast part of the West-Siberian plate. 11 coral biostratons are described, which cover a stratigraphic range from the Upper Ordovician up to the Upper Devonian (Frasnian). The regional biostratigraphical zonality, which reflects evolutionary stages of biota development, was established on the basis of detailed investigation of morphological variability of Tabulata’s species and subspecies. The succession of Tabulata lones in the Paleozoic allows us to differentiate the Paleozoic producing strata. Tracing of these lones in other regions allows us to correlate not only discovered oil and gas deposits, but also to identify new industrially significant fields.
Key words: zonality, Tabulata, lone, strata, oil and gas deposits, West Siberian plate.
